Final

Participation- I think that I do participate in class often, I am always prepared and I participate in class most of the time. Other than the last 2 weeks of school and the one time i went for a science contest i have not missed/skipped class. I always arrive to class on time with my gym strip. I do try my best most of the time, however there are times where i got lazy and gave up or put less effort. My percentage in this portion is 23%

Social Responsibility and Contributions to the class- this is the area which is not my best area, as much as i wanted to be a leader in class, i couldn't because i don't have the confidence, however this is OK! because there are other ways to contribute to class. At times i do help with cleaning up without being told. During the beginning of the semester i would hesitate, i have no idea why, however i started to help in cleaning up and putting equipment back. The only time i help setup is during badminton, I'm a little bit more biased towards badminton. I think i do bring a positive vibe to class most days, and even though i always don't do my best i do try to do something so i get some sort of benefit. i think in this category I get a 19%

Healthy living- i don't have much healthy living posts in my blog, however i have tried to incorporate it. I have started eating a little bit healthier, I don't eat much junk food at home and if there is junk food it usually a healthier version (healthier than the original). I have also started doing some sort of exercise or stretching at home, and at times i will learn a dance or just dance however i want, or i might play on the kinect when we have guests over. there is not much evidence on my blog about what i do outside of school, so i might try to post a blog where i walk home from school, or a dance that i have learned or something like that (if i have time). i have made goals and i have somewhat achieved one of my goals, and that was to tone my legs, mostly my thighs, which i did but, still needs more work. overall from this section i give myself a 21%

Digital Portfolio and Reflective skills- this section is another part i lack in. Sadly i only have about 15 posts. I really wanted to post more, i had all these post ideas which i was planning on doing, however because of procrastination and laziness i was not able to do them. But i think that i did well in my blog, even though i didn't reach 30+ posts i still think i quality and variety in my posts. The only thing that wasn't  on my blog was choice days. I have proof of healthy living, fitness days and tests. I also have quite a few pictures and some videos in my blog. i think i could've improved in this section if wrote my blogs immediately instead of procrastinating. I think that in this area i deserve a 20%

Therefore the mark i think i deserve is.....84% so a B

Beep test #3

I really enjoyed the beep test this time!! I met my goal, however i think i could've got a little bit of a higher score. This time on the beep test i got 8.2, not my awesomest score but i'm still happy i got it. I was not able to do 1 test, i think it was the t-test.

The stetch challenge

So this month (June) i discovered a stretch challenge!! In this strecth challenge i basically  post a picture of myself doing a stretch everyday on Instagram. I usually  hold the strecth for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. So far I'm only doing the stretch  but i think i might start doing a 5 minute exercise or warm up or a cardio exercise. I think after the 30 days are up i might use that Instagram  to show my progress (if i make any) i'm hoping that i will have a sort of motivation  from posting pictures  of myself exercising or my progress. My lunch and dinner

These days my parents are also starting to eat healthy, mostly because they want to make something easy rather than something that takes time to cook. So we jave started  eating salads and usually  grilled or barbecued  fish or prawns or at times chicken. Along with some sort of barbecued vegetables such as esparages or eggplant. At times my mom also gives me this for lunch. And if we dont want to wat salads or bbq my mom might make a sort of curry or soup (most likely  korean) and since I like rice and we need some sort of carbohydrates  to eat with our food we usually  make rice or roti. So the rice we use is usually  white rice, but my parents  find  it too startchy so we started to discover different rices. We tried brown rice, wild rice and purple rice. As of now we usually  eat purple rice, which i like alot plus its a healthier option.

Weight room

Weight room is not my favorite  place to wpek out, only because i feel like there isnt enough place to exercise and that people are watching me, however i usually  end up not caring if people are watching me. I feel more self-conscious working out in the weight room because i am nit very flexible or fit so when im doing ab exercises  through blogalites i feel awkward  and not as confident. Plus some of the  exercises  i do from blogalites  are not seen often or are made up by her. So at times i just give up. i think the ab exercises are really difficult for me because every  time i do it it hurts and burns alot, but i think im slowly building a tolerance  to the ab exercises because i can see theat i am begining to hold for longer. here are some pictures of me and seray working out (ab exercises)

My diet-snack/breakfast

I love sweet food, who doesn't? Therefore I get tempted to eat unhealthy sugary snacks, and usually after I eat them, I feel like I've eaten too much sugar or I dont feel healthy. So one day i was searching online for healthy  food options for an assignment  in planning and i stumbled upon a recipe in which you only need greek yogurt, granola,  and honey. And this i eat a mix of these almost everyday, to satsify my sweetbuds. (Although at times i might eat some icecream).

Locomotion

Ok so i dont have much eveidence on me doing the locomotion, however I'm going to write about my thoughts and experience  on locomotion.
So when i first did locomotion i hated it. I think i did it first in grade 9. But in grade 10 when i did it again i still hated it, however by the 2nd or 3rd time i did it, i actually  somewhat enjoyed it. But the thing i noticed when i did locomotion was that by the 3rd time we repeated  the exercise, i almost gave up. I kind of hope that we can to locomotion  again so i can pace my self durrinf the first 2 halfs and then by the third set I can go all out.

16 station fitness

Yesterdays fitness was probably one of the worsts, truthfully i felt it was organized that well and the time period was too short. The first 8 minutes were a mess, since we had to run to a station on the opposite side from where we were and do the exercise all within 1 minute, it felt pointless to do the station because we would only have about 45-20 seconds ro do an exersise, and most of our energy  went into running or sprinting to the next station. The following 8 minutes were better because mr Vaughan  told us we no longer need to run that much only twice, instead we gould rotate clockwise. I also delt that the groups we were put in were not helpful, i was put with grade 8 boys who had no motavation whatsoever. I tried myself to keep going because i had neeha and seray but it was difficult  to keep up my motavation. Overall i disliked yesterdays fitness and wish we could've done a fitness activity which could make me feel more useful and less exhausted  when we got to the next station.

Dance week

Wow, this is really late! (heads up few more late posts maybe coming)
Dance week is one of my favorite parts of gym although i wish that it was longer, maybe 2 weeks or longer. I also wish we could get in groups and like perform dances! I really enjoyed dancing, the hip hop was difficult but it was fun and it was a great learning experience. Line dancing was okay but its very predictable and i wished we did the chicken dance. Bhangra was fun but i think the people teaching the bhangra were a bit disorganized ( the ones who were in the back). Jazz was absolutely horrible for me, i have never liked jazz, maybe its to girl or too sassy for me. I also wish we got to do zumba except where an actual zumba teacher would come in and teach.Overall i had fun, but i think i should've put more effort, maybe even smiled more.

Exercise at home

I am a very lazy person, but the one thing that keeps me motivated to stay fit are probably k-pop idols. Its true that a lot of them look so thin that it looks unhealthy but there are a few who have amazing bodies, and because of those idols i am inspired to keep my body in shape. I LOVE k-pop (Korean pop) and many of the idol girl groups and boy groups have amazing healthy looking bodies. I also love dancing, and guess what? k-pop idols not only sing but they dance. because they have so many amazing, fun, catchy songs and dances, at times I get the idea of doing a cover or at times going freestyle on k-pop songs when I'm bored or simply procrastinating. At the moment my friend and I are covering/choreographing a song for unleash the stars. The entire song is about 4:55 almost 5 minutes, and every time we practice I am always out of breath by the end of the song. But i enjoy dancing and i love singing along to the songs.

Another exercise i do at home at times when i have a burst of motivation I go on my playlist of videos for exercise. This playlist consists of videos that work on legs, abs, and arms. I've only played this playlist like twice, and i practically gave up half way though each video ( 5 minute exercises) i was so disappointed at myself but recently i learned that it takes about 21 days to create a habit therefore i am going to start exercising everyday to get into a habit and hopefully get my "dream body"

The only problem right now is my extreme procrastination and my busy schedule. My school life consists on French (which right now i am very frustrated with), Gym (which helps relive a little bit of my stress) Planning( which is boring, but at the same time i feel like it will be beneficial for the future) and English (which i enjoy at times). Beyond school i do Kumon, which is basically a tutoring service that gives daily homework. Now kumon benefits me but because of my laziness and procrastination i usually end up build my work and therefore end up having stress to finish it and hand in the work on time. However i know my pain reason for procrastination and that is Korean Dramas!!! there are 2 apps where i watch these addictive dramas, to try to become more productive in not only my academics but also my health and body goals i have deleted these apps. I hope i will be more productive.

Another exercise i do out of school is walking home, which is most torturous on days where my friends pressure me to walk faster (i am a slow walker, in fact I'm slow at pretty much everything i do), however i enjoy walking especially days when its sunny and I'm not being rushed to walk faster.It allows me to think and relieve a bit of stress.

P.E mid term

how have you shown you are prepared and willing to participate in a variety of activities?
 I always bring my gym strip and I try to bring positive energy when i come to class.

On what days have you participated to your best effort and why? 
I participate to my best effort when i have something to do that is enjoyable or i see a benefit in, such as fitness or weight room, badminton, capture the flag or games that involve energy.

What days have been a struggle for you and why?
 Days that are struggles for me are days such as insanity or intense yoga. Or even games like four corner soccer and dodgeball. I tend not to put my full effort into games that seem boring to me.

How do you contribute to the overall success of the class?
I dont think i contribute that much to the class, i need to work on this. However if i do contribute someway it is probably bringing the energy and positivity and the will to do activities to class.

What kind of attitude do you bring and why? I bring a, "i'm ready for gym, even though i am still sleepy i will do my best and try to be happy and have a positive attitude in today's class." attitude to class, because i have realized over a few experiences that something will not be fun if you don't want it to be fun, but if you but in the effort and you want an experience to be remembered as "fun" you have to believe that it is fun.

How do you interact with other students in our class? I am usually a shy person, so in class its difficult for me to start a conversation. Although if i am in a situation where i interact with other students i react positively, and/or I listen and at times explain my opinion on it (even though sometimes my opinion may not be very clear)

Describe your participation during fitness days - have you been able to push yourself
physically? On fitness days, depending on the activity i am able to push my self physically sometimes. For example during fitness days which involves running such as hill run, community run, pond run, etc. i push myself physically, i always try to keep running, rather than walk. However, days when we are doing stuff like intense yoga or insanity or workouts which involve certain muscles  i tend to give up more easily, or i push my self in the beginning, but my the end of it i lose my energy and slow down.

  What types of fitness activities do you enjoy the most?  What fitness
goals do you have for the rest of the year? I enjoy fitness activities which involve running. this year I plan on putting more effort into fitness activities such as locomotion, and activities which target individual muscles.

What does "leadership" mean to you?  Who are the best leaders in our class - why? leadership to me means that someone that knows what they are doing and are able to guide others, while listening to others opinions. The best leaders in our class, I don't remember their names but they usually lead most of the games( Arman and Kabir) 

What improvements would you like to make in PE by the end of the year?   I would like to communicate my thoughts and opinions clearly, increase my physical flexibility as well as talk to my classmates often.

What are you the most proud of so far? I am most proud of the fact that during community run, I ran most of the time and barely walked .

Finally, what letter grade A, B, C+, C, C- (gulp) best represents the effort you just described? In Grade 10-12 we need an actual percentage as well. :( Like 71%… because…"
I think that i should get a B around 83% because i do try in class, but i fall behind on writing my blogs, and i think i should also put more effort into communicating with classmates therefore i give myself an 83%

List what you are enjoying about the Active Learning Course:
This year I especially enjoy active learning/ P.E 10 this year because I don't feel like I have to do gym, I feel like I want to do gym. This year i decided to take a new approach to P.E. Rather than me thinking that I have to do this, I think about my body and decide that I want to be physically healthy. I really enjoy the fact the Mr. Neufeld tells us to do what we are comfortable with, and that we should do a fitness level which we think will benefit our body, rather than doing the same thing everyone is doing. An example of this is when we were in the weight room, Mr. Neufeld told us to write our goals and find an exercise that helped us reach our goal. I also like that the atmosphere of the class is friendly, and somewhat comfortable. I feel less hesitant and more confident in gym class to participate in activities, one of my favourite parts of active learning, is fitness, however i don't like some fitness activities, but my favourite fitness activity is the community run, because I enjoy running to a certain extent.

List what you would like to see changed about the Active Learning Course:
I don't really know what i would like to change about the Active learning course, because i like the course the way it is. I enjoy the way we have our freedom to pick exercises and fitness levels that benefit us.

My Goals!^^

My goal for my body this semester is to tone my legs, work on getting a flat stomach/abs and work on my flexibility. I found this workout on YouTube. It says it works on getting a thigh gap and slim waist. here is the video:

I only got up to half of the video but whatever I did do  made me feel better, by the end of gym class I could actually feel like I exercised and my thighs were tired. I felt very refreshed. Next time I will finish the entire workout as well as look for similar workouts.
